Sandhill Crane and Eagle Cruise
Saturday, January 25, 2014
9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Join Kevin Calhoon, the Aquarium's assistant curator of forests, for our annual winter wildlife adventure to see magnificent Sandhill Cranes, nesting Bald Eagles and other animals in the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge. We'll cruise aboard the Blue Moon, a vessel featuring a climate-controlled lower deck and open-air upper deck. Hiwassee Island, located in the refuge, is the prime winter gathering site in the Southeast for thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes. A few Whooping Cranes may also be in the area. Your naturalist guide will point out wildlife along the way and share interesting facts about these graceful birds. Price includes a BBQ lunch, 3 ½ hour cruise and naturalist.
