Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute Double Adventure!

Join Outdoor Chattanooga and the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute for a double adventure. The first half of the morning is a guided kayak tour to bring paddlers closer to the local river environment and concluding at the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute. Instructors from Outdoor Chattanooga will provide instruction and kayaking equipment for our scenic paddle from Baylor School down to Suck Creek. TNACI's naturalist will accompany the tour providing interpretive information. Following the paddle guests will tour the Conservation Institute to learn more about their freshwater conservation efforts. This kayak trip is open to ages 16 and up and it is recommended to have some kayaking experience.

Here are some additional things you need to know:
• Here is a google link to assist you in finding the meeting location. We will meet at TNACI at 8:00 a.m.
• Outdoor Chattanooga will provide all the equipment for the trip, including kayak, paddle, and Personal Flotation Device (lifejacket) along with a shuttle to the put-in and then back to your vehicle (TNACI) after the conclusion of the paddle.
• Wear clothes that you don't mind getting splashed. Light, synthetic clothing is best.
• On your feet, please wear sturdy river sandals (Teva’s, Chaco’s) or old tennis shoes. Flip-flops are a little light for where we put in and take out.
• Be sure to bring lots of water. Sun protection is strongly encouraged. You may bring a snack on the paddle if you would like.
• The kayaks we paddle have hatches to store extra stuff, but are not waterproof, so be sure to pack your valuables in a dry bag or ziplock bag.
