Nature Nuts: Butterfly Count
Thursday, June 25
5:00 – 7:00 PM ET
Join Aquarium educators and guest experts for a monthly nature club, especially for children ages 5-12! The Tennessee Aquarium Nature Nuts come together to connect children and their families to the amazing diversity of nature in our own backyards and around the world. Our goal is to kindle a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Become a Citizen Scientist by helping collect butterfly data for the North American Butterfly Association (NABA). No experience is necessary! Close-focusing binoculars are a help, but not required. Mr. Bill will teach you how to identify butterflies as we go, and we’ll keep track of how many of each species we see. That number will be reported in his Lookout Mountain count circle. We’ll have the chance to see caterpillars and host plants too!
