River Teachers TNACI

River Teachers Middle & High
The Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute

Monday - Friday    |     July 9 - 13

8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

The Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute is excited to offer our second annual summer camp for educators. River Teachers is a week-long immersive professional development program designed to help middle and high school science teachers bring freshwater lessons to life. River Teachers will venture out in the field with our scientists to sample fish in a local stream, test water quality, snorkel one of the Southeast’s most biodiverse rivers, look for salamanders and more. The week of aquatic adventures culminates with a teacher summit to create new lesson plans and develop innovative learning opportunities. Please note that we will spend a majority of the time outdoors in an active setting.

This week-long workshop will be offered free of charge for current middle and high school teachers. However, due to the limited number of spots available, we are requiring a $25 fee to hold your spot. Upon completion of the week, we will refund the $25 fee. If you register and cannot attend, please let us know by June 29th to receive a refund. This will allow those on the waitlist to register.

Due to grant funding, this workshop is for classroom teachers only. For more information, contact Hayley Wise at hbw@tnaqua.org.
