Monday - Friday    |     June 25 - 29

8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

The Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute is excited to offer our first summer camp for elementary school educators. River Teachers is a week-long immersive professional development program designed to help elementary school teachers bring freshwater lessons to life. River Teachers will venture out in the field with our scientists to sample macroinvertebrates in a local stream, test water quality, snorkel one of the Southeast’s most biodiverse rivers, and visit local outdoor sites for field trips. The week of aquatic adventures culminates with a teacher summit to create new lesson plans and develop innovative learning opportunities. Please note that we will spend a majority of the time outdoors in an active setting.

This week-long workshop will be offered free of charge for current elementary school teachers. However, due to the limited number of spots available, we are requiring a $25 fee to hold your spot. Upon completion of the week, we will refund the $25 fee. If you register and cannot attend, please let us know by June 15th to receive a refund. This will allow those on the waitlist to register.

Due to grant funding, this workshop is for classroom teachers only. For more information, contact Hayley Wise at hbw@tnaqua.org.
