Join us for Ocean Odyssey: An Evening with Dr. Sylvia Earle

Join us for a premiere screening of Ocean Odyssey 3D followed by a presentation by internationally acclaimed oceanographer and National Geographic Explorer At Large, Dr. Sylvia Earle.  Both the film premiere and presentation will be hosted in the IMAX Theater. Event proceeds will support the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute’s research and restoration projects. To maximize safety for all guests, theater seating will be limited to no more than 200 guests (or 50 percent of capacity). Masks will be required for this event, except when actively eating or drinking.

Dr. Sylvia Earle is long recognized as one of the world's top experts on ocean science and conservation. She is the president and chairman of the oceanic preservation outreach organization Mission Blue, a National Geographic Explorer at large and former chief scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  Called "Her Deepness" by The New Yorker and the New York Times, a "Living Legend" by the Library of Congress, and a "First Hero for the Planet" by Time magazine, she is an oceanographer, explorer, author and field scientist. 

Dr. Earle's new book, National Geographic Ocean: A Global Odyssey, offers a comprehensive overview of the fundamental science of the ocean, from plate tectonics to seawater makeup.

Through an illustrated guide to marine life, 100 maps and diagrams, and a wealth of full-color photographs, it explores the wonder and mysteries of the vast world ocean, from its surface to its deepest abysses.

7:00 PM- Film Discussion, Q&A with Dr. Sylvia Earle
