Homeschool Day Classroom Programs
January 27, 2020
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Don't miss the opportunity to attend a classroom program during this year's Tennessee Aquarium Homeschool Day! This is your student's chance to have a hands-on learning experience with our Tennessee Aquarium Education Team. See below for age groups and class descriptions.
Plant Life Cycles
Age Range: K - 3rd
Learn about the life cycle of a plant. How do plants reproduce? What is pollination? What part do flowers play in the plant life cycle?
Skull Detectives
Age Rage: 1st - 3rd
Find clues to tell you about how different animals survive by examining features on their skulls. We'll learn about animal adaptations and have hands-on exploration of models of animal skulls.
Owl Pellet Dissection
Age Range: 4th - 8th
Using simple tools, students will explore the contents of the (sterilized) regurgitated pellets of indigestible material (bones and fur primarliy) that owls leave behind. This is how real-life wildlife scientists conduct diet studies on owls in the wild. Let's science together!
Plankton Power
Age Range: 9th - 12th
Students learn about the drifters of the ocean and design their own plankton in a race to see who can sink the slowest.
Please note: You may register multiple students. Click the box beside each program listing and choose how many students will attend each class. If you have students in different age groups, you may choose multiple classrooms. Please email Katherine at education@tnaqua.org with any questions.
